Our Philosophy
One definition of Yoga is to control the consciousness (Iyengar) it also
means to yoke, as in to connect the body to the spirit through control
of the mind. We practice the physical postures (asana), breath-work
(pranayama) and mental exercise (meditation/Drishti) in order to better
align our body and mind with our spirit, the Divine within, our true
nature.
As we energize the body through our Asana practice and we come to
control our breath through pranayama, the mind quiets and we can find a
deeper connection to ourselves and to our spirit. We can learn that
taking the time to care for our bodies and to create that connection
allows us a deeper connection to the world around us.
